For the past few weeks, I've been having DNS issues. At various times during the day, the DNS will drop and any web site is inaccessible, except directly from an IP address. It has happened several times, then later in the day, they will come back online. I finally ended up switching to a public D...
So the firmware udpate did not resolve the problem. After every reboot DNS works a bit, and then dies. I have triple play, interent, TV, and phone. I am not concerned about the quality of the Verizon DNS servers, nor that the router is a simple forwarder, I jsut want it to always resolve DNS addresses, regardles of the DMZ configuration. P.
What I have noticed is all these issues go away as soon as I connect to VPN, everything runs smoothly without any hang ups. I thought may be it was the issue with verizon DNS, so I switched DNS on my router to google, cloudflare and others for testing but that did not help.
